This combination ensures that the valuable ingredients are optimally absorbed and their effects unfold. The golden paste can be used both to relieve existing ailments and as a preventative measure to promote your dog's health and keep them fit. If you want to support your four-legged friend's well-being in a simple and natural way, the golden paste is an indispensable nutritional addition.

The Benefits of the Golden Paste

Turmeric has gained importance in animal nutrition, particularly due to its anti-inflammatory properties. It's an excellent remedy for supporting joint pain, digestive problems, and even weight loss. The main active ingredients in turmeric, especially curcumin, have pain-relieving effects and promote the healing of inflammation. However, as with many natural remedies, there's one peculiarity: curcumin is difficult to digest and poorly absorbed by the body unless properly prepared. This is where the golden paste comes in!

The golden paste ensures that the curcumin is optimally absorbed by your dog's body by combining it with coconut oil and black pepper. The addition of coconut oil, which has a high fat content, and black pepper, whose ingredient piperine can enhance the effects of curcumin by up to 2000%, ensures improved bioavailability and maximum effectiveness.

Recipe for Golden Paste for Dogs

With just a few ingredients, the golden paste is quick and easy to prepare. And the best part? It's ready in about 15 minutes and can be easily mixed into your dog's food at the right dosage.

Ingredients:

70 g MH Terra® Organic Turmeric

70 g Organic Virgin Coconut Oil

1 tsp. freshly ground black pepper

250 ml water

Preparation:

1. Place turmeric and water in a small pot and heat while stirring constantly. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes on medium heat until it reaches a thick, smooth consistency.

2. When the paste has reached the desired consistency, add the coconut oil and freshly ground black pepper and stir well.

3. Optionally, add a little honey.

4. Pour the paste into a jar or container and store it in the refrigerator. It will keep for up to three weeks. Alternatively, you can pour the paste into an ice cube tray and store it in the refrigerator or freezer as needed. The ice cube tray pre-portioned the paste.

Dosage of the Golden Paste for Dogs

The recommended dosage varies depending on your dog's weight. Start with a small amount and increase the dosage slowly to test tolerance.
  • Dogs up to 8 kg: ¼-½ teaspoon per day
  • Dogs from 9-15 kg: ½-¾ teaspoon per day
  • Dogs from 16-22 kg: ¾-1 teaspoon per day
  • Dogs from 23-32 kg: 1-2 teaspoons per day
  • Dogs from 33 kg and over: 1.5-3 teaspoons per day

It's best to divide the dose throughout the day, as turmeric is quickly metabolized.
For preventative purposes, the paste can be given two to three times a week or used as a course of treatment over two to five weeks.

When should you use the golden paste?

The golden paste is not only suitable for supporting the treatment of illnesses, but also as a preventative measure to promote your dog's health. Turmeric has proven extremely effective, particularly for joint problems such as arthritis, digestive disorders, or as a support for liver health. Because curcumin acts as a powerful antioxidant, it can also help fight free radicals and strengthen the immune system.

Important information:

  • Turmeric is not suitable for dogs with acute or chronic pancreatic diseases, as pepper stimulates the release of pancreatic enzymes.
  • Dogs with gallbladder problems should also only be given turmeric after consulting a veterinarian, as it can affect the gallbladder.
  • In dogs with very "hot temper" (e.g., dogs prone to diarrhea or constipation), turmeric should be used with caution.
  • Because turmeric has a slight blood-thinning effect, it should be discontinued before surgical procedures.
